Nicole Evans, MA, LMFT
These are unsettling times. As women – and as humans – life is complicated enough with so many moving parts in our lives and external stresses compounding daily. Add entrepreneur to the mix, and that stress is amplified, here are just a few of my top five tips for creating grounding, and centering and connection for ourselves. If you’d like more tools, ideas or support, I’m happy to share! Remember that communities such as these are vital in these times!
1. Let your body lead.
Your nervous system is constantly sending signals. Slow down enough to notice them. Nourish yourself with real food, hydrate, stretch or walk, breathe deeply, and protect your sleep. Sustainable leadership starts with physical attunement.
2. Be informed, not inundated.
Stay aware of what matters, but set intentional boundaries around how much you consume. Balance current events with a long-view perspective. History reminds us that humanity has weathered uncertainty before and evolved through it.
3. Come back to your senses.
Step outside. Feel the ground beneath your feet. Listen to birds, wind, or the quiet hum of your neighborhood. Notice light, color, texture. Sing in the car. Laugh with someone. Make something with your hands. Beauty and play recalibrate a taxed mind.
4. Choose connection over isolation.
Reach toward others. Send the text. Make the call. Share honestly. Community steadies us. In a world of billions, you are never the only one feeling what you’re feeling and mutual support builds resilience.
5. Channel energy into meaningful action.
When concern rises, move it into contribution. Advocate, volunteer, donate, collaborate, build. Even small acts reinforce agency and remind you that you are not powerless, you are participatory.
If you’d like more tools, ideas, or support, Nicole is happy to share. Communities like TLC are vital in these times — and you are never the only one feeling what you’re feeling.
